MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
Dear Members,
As I begin my two-year term as your new President, I look forward to the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. Thanks to the efforts of our Past President, Dr. Colin Soskolne, and the Board of Directors in revitalizing The Canadian Society for Epidemiology and Biostatistics (CSEB) it is an exciting time to be leading the Society. I am delighted to bring you greetings on behalf of the new Board, which includes a large number of talented individuals. We will make every effort to continue to strengthen CSEB by meeting the needs of our members.
During the recent 3rd North American
Congress of
Epidemiology in Montreal, that CSEB co-sponsored,
your Board met numerous times and is planning many
new activities.
The 2012 CSEB Student Conference
will be held in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and the 2013
CSEB
Conference and Student Conference in St.John’s,
Newfoundland. Planning
for all three events is well underway.
The organizing committees will
be developing first-rate
scientific programs and exciting social
programs with many
opportunities for
knowledge exchange.
Following the success of the spring webinar
on Longitudinal
Data Analysis, we will also be organizing
webinars and
workshops on a variety of topics. As these courses
are
organized for your benefit, please feel
free to suggest topics
of interest.
Keep watching the monthly e-Bulletin for upcoming
events.
We will continue to be advocates for the professions of
epidemiology and biostatistics in Canada. I would
like to thank each one of you for your active support
through
your membership and encourage you to tell
your colleagues
and students about CSEB.
Susan Jaglal, PhD
President
Canadian Society for Epidemiology and Biostatistics
